General objectives
- review, evaluate, and improve the appropriateness of methods and approaches
to monitor trends in species and habitats for assessing the extent to which the
2010 target of halting the biodiversity loss in Europe is met
- compare and integrate the most promising methods, approaches, and
techniques (schemes) into a comprehensive, coherent, and consistent
framework for assessing the 2010 target
- disseminate a comprehensive database on monitoring schemes and
recommended methods - inter alia - via a publicly available user-friendly
internet portal
